School Play Area

School Play Area

Play is a child’s work. Children learn a lot of things at school. Their learning process starts from the classrooms and continues in different areas around the school premises like the libraries, physical exercise areas and especially the school play area or playground.

School play areas provide children with a lot of learning opportunities while providing them with the chances of physical activity and fun at the same time. There are a few things that should be taken into consideration for a school play area before sending your kids to play in:

Make sure that there is some staff available to watch over the kids while they play.
The child/staff or caregiver ratios are appropriate for the age of your child.
First aid kit is accessible and close to the play area.
The play area is properly covered or provided with an appropriate shelter to protect the kids for the harmful rays of the sun.
Proper fence and gate surrounds the play area so that no kid can leave the area unnoticed.
There are no dangerous plants in play area.

There are no broken toys in the area as broken pieces from toys can cause injury.
No trash is present in the play area.
No equipment in the play area should is rusted or has protruding bolts or screws.
Swings or other large equipment is anchored securely to the ground.
All climbing equipment and swings have shock absorbing materials under them.
Areas where there is a much more chance of injury, like the area under swings and at the ends of slides and ladders, special measures for the protection of kids is taken.
By taking care of these small points we can keep our kids safe and happy in the play areas and make their play time a learning experience for them. If you are looking for shelters or covers on your school play area then Multicover.ie can provide you with the best solutions.
